Soil remembers

During my visit to the Kvantum festival area, I encountered trees with iron wires embedded
in their bark, remnants of a zoo that once occupied the site. These wires have been removed
and incorporated into my installation. The piece also includes waste canvas found in Podhradie,
which is covered in soil from places where I’ve lived, Bratislava, Prague, and the area surrounding
the Kvantum festival. The installation is further complemented by wool and yarn, alongside
photographs from the STK fund. These elements collectively explore the history of my hometown,
with a particular focus on the totalitarian period under Jozef Tiso, who served as a priest
in Bánovce nad Bebravou, the town near the festival and my place of origin.
