ARCHIVE OF TRANSIT
Archive of Transit is an institutionally critical form of mail art exchange. It deals with the mail art exchange between artists who have been selected based on the topics they deal with; some I met personally, others I encountered online. I invited these artists to participate in the project using the same instruction: to send me something, to which I would then respond by sending them something back. The initial contribution could be anything, from a note to an art piece; the exchange would be the work itself. Through a series of dialogues that precede the sending of the mail art piece, it reflects on how artistic identity is negotiated within institutional frameworks. Together, these exchanges create a space where art and theory meet, forming relationships through the mail art exchange between the participating artists and me. The viewer is invited to witness how communication itself becomes a medium for questioning the artist's position.
